In the market for: transitional capsule pieces for summer to fall

Today's iteration of In the market for focuses on capsule pieces to transition us from the end of summer (tears) through fall. As I've touched on here, here, and here, and shown in various outfit posts as of late (see the Style link in the menu), I'm now a full blown capsule wardrobe addict. Although I wouldn't yet call myself a professional, I think I'm getting there. And after getting much interest and several inquiries from readers and friends, I'm going to focus more and more on capsuling on The Pastiche.

So, several of these chosen pieces could very well hold their own throughout the entire year, even, but I think they'd make great staples for this cooler, layer-friendly season. In the coming weeks, I will focus on accessories, shoes, and jackets to keep your set capsule feeling fresh, exciting, and on-trend.

In light of a less-is-more mantra, and the idea of fewer, nicer things, some of these items may come with a slightly higher price tag, but only because I think they are worthwhile, versatile investments.

A faux leather jacket is a must, and a much easier first step towards real leather // Striped button down T for tucking and layering

Thin striped midi skirt to wear with sweaters and other layers // A less serious frayed black blazer for going out or staying in

Fifteen // Sixteen

Linen sweater tank in a creamy ivory // Comfy olive utility peg trousers for cool dressing up or down
